TIME
SESSION
8:30am to 8:40am

Welcome Address

8:40am to 10:10am

Dialysis Access PLAN & Maximize Surgical HD Access Maturation

10:10am to 10:30am

Break and Exhibition Visit

10:30am to 12:30pm

Greatest Challenges in Dialysis Access Service & How to Overcome (VSICON @ DASy)

12:30pm to 1:20pm

Lunch Symposium

1:30pm to 5:00pm

Breakout Sessions (parallel sessions)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, procedures will be shown over the conference room, either recorded procedure or live streaming from the intervention suite. Patients’ ultrasound scannings are also being projected and shown in the conference room. Healthy volunteers are recruited for on-site hands-on pre-operative ultrasound vessel assessment scanning. Ultrasound guided vessel cannulation, central vein catheter insertion manikin, peritoneal catheter insertion manikin, stent deployment model are available on-site for practice.

Ultrasound Guided HD Access Intervention

This workshop will cover fundamental knowledge of Ultrasound machine handling, patient selection, set up of service, step-by-step guide on salvage procedure of HD accesses, various tips and tricks of Ultrasound guided HD access intervention

Endovascular AVF Creation

This workshop will cover the basic concept of endovascular AVF creation, patient selection, recorded/live case demonstration and discussion.

Fluoroscopic Guided HD Access and Central Vein Intervention

(Simulator training on HD access endovascular intervention)
Recorded interventional procedures/live cases will be shown in the conference room. Workshop convenors will provide talks on strategies, tips and tricks of HD access & central vein intervention. Participants are encouraged to discuss with the workshop convenors and procedurelists throughout the whole workshop. Endovascular simulators are prepared for practice of participants.

PD Catheter Insertion (hands-on simulator training)

Workshop convenors will cover the topics on procedure of percutaneous PD catheter insertion, patient selection, problem shooting, precautions to prevent complications. In-depth discussion is encouraged. Hands-on practice of PD catheter insertion is available in the workshop.

Ultrasound Pre-Op Assessment and HD Access Evaluation

(hands-on USG guided cannulation training)
The workshop teaches basic skills of using ultrasound for superficial vessel assessment. The convenors will demonstrate how to evaluate vessels (both vein and artery) for vascular access creation, arteriovenous fistula and fistula graft for any significant stenosis, volume flow assessment of vascular access. Hands-on practice using manikins for ultrasound guided vessel cannulation, central venous catheter insertion are available onsite.

Simulator Training on Stent Deployment

(Each participant just require 20 mins with this session)
Experts in Supera stent deployment will be in the workshop to explain the principle and the technique. Hands-on practice to deploy actual Supera stent over the simulator is available on-site. This process takes about 20-30mins and available throughout the whole conference time. Please sign up for a time slot over Abbott booth during the conference.
