Successful surgical vascular access creation – This webinar covers essential elements to make a successful surgical vascular access, pitfalls to avoid, strategies for failure condition and system to promote a high functional maturation rate.
HD access assessment, evaluation and surveillance – This webinar covers the fundamental principle, anatomy and clinical evaluation of vascular access. The convenors will also discuss various methods to assess wellness of vascular access including hemodialysis parameters, access flow measurement and ultrasound assessment.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, procedures will be shown over the conference room, either recorded procedure or live streaming from the intervention suite. Patients’ ultrasound scannings are also being projected and shown in the conference room. Healthy volunteers are recruited for on-site hands-on pre-operative ultrasound vessel assessment scanning. Ultrasound guided vessel cannulation, central vein catheter insertion manikin, peritoneal catheter insertion manikin, stent deployment model are available on-site for practice.
(Simulator training on HD access endovascular intervention)
Recorded interventional procedures/live cases will be shown in the conference room. Workshop convenors will provide talks on strategies, tips and tricks of HD access & central vein intervention. Participants are encouraged to discuss with the workshop convenors and procedurelists throughout the whole workshop. Endovascular simulators are prepared for practice of participants.
Workshop convenors will cover the topics on procedure of percutaneous PD catheter insertion, patient selection, problem shooting, precautions to prevent complications. In-depth discussion is encouraged. Hands-on practice of PD catheter insertion is available in the workshop.
(hands-on USG guided cannulation training)
The workshop teaches basic skills of using ultrasound for superficial vessel assessment. The convenors will demonstrate how to evaluate vessels (both vein and artery) for vascular access creation, arteriovenous fistula and fistula graft for any significant stenosis, volume flow assessment of vascular access. Hands-on practice using manikins for ultrasound guided vessel cannulation, central venous catheter insertion are available onsite.
(Each participant just require 20 mins with this session)
Experts in Supera stent deployment will be in the workshop to explain the principle and the technique. Hands-on practice to deploy actual Supera stent over the simulator is available on-site. This process takes about 20-30mins and available throughout the whole conference time. Please sign up for a time slot over Abbott booth during the conference.
