Due to COVID-19 restrictions, procedures will be shown over the conference room, either recorded procedure or live streaming from the intervention suite. Patients’ ultrasound scannings are also being projected and shown in the conference room. Healthy volunteers are recruited for on-site hands-on pre-operative ultrasound vessel assessment scanning. Ultrasound guided vessel cannulation, central vein catheter insertion manikin, peritoneal catheter insertion manikin, stent deployment model are available on-site for practice.

The workshop teaches basic skills of using ultrasound for superficial vessel assessment. The convenors will demonstrate how to evaluate vessels (both vein and artery) for vascular access creation, arteriovenous fistula and fistula graft for any significant stenosis, volume flow assessment of vascular access. Hands-on practice using manikins for ultrasound guided vessel cannulation, central venous catheter insertion are available onsite.
